Whats up everybody. I just found the site recently and I just so happen to be at the beginning of my setup.

I don't know everything about car audio so I need a little help all around here.

................................................................................

.............................................................

Here is what I'm working with:

2002 Dodge Durango R/T all blacked out sittin on 20" rims.

2 12" Rockford Fosgate HX2 Punch (dual 4-ohm voice coils) more specs can be found here

Ported Kicker box that's about 42"x24"x24" with an 18" long port about 6" in diameter.

a Boss CX950 amp. 2000W max, 2-channels more specs can be found here

A Scosche amp wiring kit with 4 gauge power wire and a 100A fuse. much like this one

A Scosche SLC4 High Level Line Converter (so I can use my stock radio for now) this is the one

And a Monster 300 MonsterCap 1 Farad Stiffening this is the one

All 8 of the front speakers are blown except 2 6" eclipse speakers so their all gonna need to be replaced with something once I get the bass where I want it.

................................................................................

..............................................................

Yea yea go ahead and laugh it up. I don't have a whole lot of money to drop all at once so I went pretty cheap in some areas.

My goal here is SPL but I would like it to sound half way decent later on.

How would you suggest for me to wire the amp? 4ohms using both channels or 2ohms bridged?

I would add some pictures but I don't know how at the moment. More to come.

:8)

We all had to start somewhere. When I first started out, my ENTIRE system was Optimus.

you prob better off building a new box to the specs of your subs

Line out converter (LOC)

I actually don't think anybody else makes them.

I use one, and I know a lot of people that do too.

They are nice because you can set the gain on them. And they are easy to wire up.

I heard it will steal some of the signal, so a HU would be good sometime down the road.

But since I've never heard my subs played through an aftermarket HU, I'm good.

RE SE 12" subs (2) in prefab dual ported box (custom box coming soon)

Hifonics bxi610 mono 600 watt amp

Stock HU

Mach RCU

Apline 5 x 7 S Type Speakers (2) (1 blown)

Stock rear speakers (2)

Pyramid Tweeters (2)

Whats up guys. I put in a little work over the last couple of days, took some pics and a video so I'll post them in a minute to show you what I'm working with here.

So You have the specs already.

I installed all my wires, mounted the amp, dropped the subs, and installed an intake.

I don't trust my amp (Boss CX950) so I wired the subs up bridged at 4 ohms.

This is still a work in progress.

i actually had an hx2 for a while it got pretty loud i only had one 12 sealed when i had it. i think you should be safe bridgeing that amp at 2 ohms. i would double check the spec sheet though. nice for your first setup but i ould definately try building a ported box for um. try to do it your self. the worst that can happen is you have to do it again but it will sound better and get louder if you do it right. its not that hard and theres plenty of research you can do here if you need it. most of us are pretty helpful too. just ask questions and they should get answered

R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up.
