mdf is the best to use for wood. :P

port only had to be 1.5"s wide i know mdf is the best but i had that wood lying around and figured why not build a box for my sub... hey its better than my prefab

Seems pretty small even for a single 10.. Also what kind of wood is that?? and where are u gonna be running the speaker wire?? Doesn't look as if u drilled any holes for a terminal cup or even for a small hole just to run the wires through. Also for another 2-3 dollars or so you could have bought sum sealant to make sure that it would be all air tight.

gonna be drilling the holes on the right side today for the terminal peice, the wood is just ply wood i know its not the best wood to use but i used what i had

X2 on Marlo. go get yourself a small tube/bottle of liquid nails and put it on the edges.

Other than that I think it's about right for a small 10".

Liquid nails isn't exactly the best sealant to use... The best IMO(besides resin + glassing) is standard white bathroom/kitchen caulking. This is the kind I use for cheap boxes for locals on a budget, DAP Kwik Seal(I get it at Home Depot for a couple dollars per 10oz tube).
