A Call For Help

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone Just joined recently and I'm loving it here. I'm new to this fascinating world of car audio. Currently I'm putting my first system together. Tomorrow I'm buying two dual 4 ohm voice coil 12" L7 06 model and they are going into a 96 Toyota Camry. The reason I'm posting this is because I wanted some help regarding the box which I will be building myself along with the help of a friend. I gotten a lot of ideas with what I can do from all your guy's past and current build. Well I have measure my trunk and I got Height = 16.5 in Width = 45 – 46 in Length = 36 – 37 in( I guess about 16.25 cu ft) to work with. So from what I picked up I thought I got to make up a box to fit within in this space and kicker recommends 3.25 cu ft per subwoofer so about 7 cu ft. I know there is a lot calculation and I have been looking at some different formulas but I’m bit confused so can someone please guide me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your replies.

some specs on the sub:

Vas (liters) 62.53

Fs (Hz) 33.965

Qts 0.5125

Ok I have 2 sites you can go and look at to build you a ported box...This link just change the demensions at the bottom of the page to come up with something in the ballpark of what you need...I used it for my box..But I only had 1 speaker..

http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported...mp;Fs=&CE=0

Here is another link..This one you have to change all the parameters as well..Just put in what you need and there ya go...

I hope this helps you out if it doesn't just post up and someone else with more experience with the specific speakers will help you...I am sure there are some guys in here with Kicker L7's..

I was messing around with the Re Calculator and I was thinking is this meant to calculate for a one sub's enclosure ? So my question would we input calculation for a box holding two subs and also do we have to double the port or just stick with what the calculator gives ?? any input would be koo when it comes to thi calculator or any tips approaching making a box
