brsteinbach
Hey guy's my battery is resting at 11.70v after my car sits for a day or two. I know my battery is good and I did my big three and my voltage is at 14.68 at idle so I don;t think my alts bad. What do you guy's think the problem is? BTW the batt is a wetcell from Batteries plus. Do you guy's think a red or yellow top up front would help? My yellow top rests at 13.0 volts. a resting voltage of 12.0 is considered dead for most 12 volt batts IIRC. cqtama
do you mean 11.7 when the car is on or off? car batteries are supose to sit at 12 volts thats opperating voltage of a car. when its on it should sit around 14 V when its being charged by the alternater Quote R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up. Guest
sounds like the battery is dead. 12.6< is considered good. anything under that and i would replace the battery. even sitting for 2 days it should still be at or above 12.

brsteinbach
Ok I'll be replacing it when I get some money. Edit: I guess I'll be going with a Kinetic or XS. Whatever is cheaper. 1992Chevy K1500
Thanks for the fast reply. So you would recommend a yellow or red top? I'd honestly recommend an XS or Kinetik. I have a yellow top because I got it a couple of months before I joined this forum. Optima's require a LOT of care and attention. Took me 3 months to get mine up to 13.0 volts (It rested at 12.6 when I got it) neither.... XS POWER FTW! This.
