ɀƸƸγαђ Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 I have designed this box with how much space I have in my cars' trunk area. The 2 speaker holes are for 10" subs The box is 2.179 cubic feet. Subs Im planning on puting in the box are audiopulse revo 10's. http://www.audiopulse.com/products/subwoofer-drivers/revo So now where do I put the port how big and what should it be tuned to? I was thinking a slot port in the middle tuned to 30 hz Live Large, Floss Daily Like a sprained ankle, boy I aint nothing to play with

I was thinking a slot port in the middle tuned to 30 hz your not going to have enough box volume id make the box 3 cubes after displacements. and where are you getting those revos from there not easy to find 2005 Ford Ranger Reg cab Build in Progress T3 Audio T2000 12 ARC SE4000 Stinger HPM 1/0 Wire DC power 270xp Batts: 1 Redtop up front and a Stinger SPP2250 in the back Hopes to be in and around a 150....weel see my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/steph3n1 Team DBs (Driven By sound)
ɀƸƸγαђ Posted November 29, 2009 Author Report Posted November 29, 2009 3.0 cubes? How much louder will that be than 2.2 cubes? I cant really go too much bigger. I could maybe change the 16 to 17 inches and the 11.5 to 12 inches, making it 2.4 cubes. I dont think .2 cubes really matter, I though it was more in the port design.. I made this thread asking about porting the box and tuning the port.. Live Large, Floss Daily Like a sprained ankle, boy I aint nothing to play with
Guest Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 having a port will take away alot of the box volume. the only way you can compensate for that is by having a larger box. and 30hz is a very low tuning requiring a long port in most cases. what kind of music do you listen to. edit: if you tune for around a general 35hz, you can save airspace, but not much.
cqtama Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 it wont be worith it to port the box if your just gunna starve the woofers of air. if you want to go ported i would say just do 1 12 instead of 2 10's R.I.P '01 blazer you treated my ears well until your transmission blew up. Steph3n1 Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 So to port I HAVE to have 3.0 cubes of box? id recomend it it makes a huge difference. one 12 sounds like a much better idea to me and trust me 1 12 can get Loud thats what im runnin and its pretty loud for what it is 2005 Ford Ranger Reg cab Build in Progress T3 Audio T2000 12 ARC SE4000 Stinger HPM 1/0 Wire DC power 270xp Batts: 1 Redtop up front and a Stinger SPP2250 in the back Hopes to be in and around a 150....weel see my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/steph3n1 Team DBs (Driven By sound)
cqtama Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 im not saying you HAVE to do anything but generaly ported boxes require more air space than sealed and if you make the box to small you will hinder a subs performance. with this in mind its better off to go smaller if you cant fit bigger. just my oppinion. then again i cant seam to get the link to the website to work so i cant get info on your subs. does the site give box volume specs? ɀƸƸγαђ Posted November 29, 2009 Author Report Posted November 29, 2009 .8-1.5 cubes per sub... I heard you go in the middle and then port it.. so either 1.1 cubes or 1.2 cubes per sub Making for 2 10's 2.2-2.4 cubes. Live Large, Floss Daily Like a sprained ankle, boy I aint nothing to play with
