Austin175 Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 ok lastnight i was driving to my cousins house to pick some stuff up an i was beatin like i usually do well i get like 10 mins from his place an everything was fine then all of a sudden my head lights went out an my car died but all my dash lights were on an my system shut off as well. well today i go to take it to a shop an now keep in mind (i have a red top batt an a h/o alt ) but on the way there it seemed liek my car was putting for gas an it smelt like something was burning an i barley have ne voltage drop but everything dims when i turn it up to like 26 an up an it never did that when i first got the batt an alt an iv had them for about 3 weeks maybe so idk whats going on kia spectra 4 door HU-a kenwood kdc-692x optima red top under the hood ( kinetik battery or powermaster in the back ) Iraggi 260amp H/O alternator 1 set of knu kandy 1/0 guage wiring kit ( 2 more sets coming ) front speakers - back speakers - 2 12" lv 4's with lvl 5 softparts ( going to be 4 in near future) Sundown 3500d( going to be 2 sometime ) i have boughten from - Bass14(smd), ddbump(caraudioclassifieds)
Iraggi Alternator Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 ive seen batts just go out all of the sudden. Check that out. Bad connections. Take batt terms off and clean... even if they look clean. Ive also seen cars not start with dirty terminals but looked clean on the outside.
Guest DC Power Kyle Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 Did you get a voltage reading from your battery? Maybe a ground or something came loose and all you may have to do is just all your wires to make sure everything is secured. If a wire is loose = more resistance. more resistance = heat. heat = burning. burning = possible fire. Get us voltage readings of the battery after letting it sit for a couple of hours and check your connections (positive and negs).

Something bad is gonna happen real soon. You will notice a huge difference after that. You will need to check your factory batt fuse if there is one. They will usually go when you have a bigger alt and no big 3 Dom
