Ok i am thinking about making a box for my Rockford Fosgate 12" Hx2 sub.I was going to make the box measurements out by Length=20 depth 30" Height 15" so i went online to the online box demensions calculater and i put in the measurements

it came out to be a 4 cubic feet all together.Thats the exact demensions the Hx2 needs. Now my qeustion is what kind of port should i do for this box so i can tune it to the right hurts.A circular port,|===|<---or the port that looks like that.Or should i do the removable like steve meades port on his tahoe box so i can swicth out different sizes.I posted this because i needed some feed back and help so i do not screw up this build and i know you guys are bluntly honest so can you help me out??This will be my first build ever.Does any one have any good information??? :search: .

I loled at "the right hurts", it's spelled hertz just to let u know. What Hx2 do u have, power or punch?? What kind of power are u running?? Daily or SPL setup?? These need to be answered before we can give u any box specs to base a design off of.

After wood displacement(using 3/4" wood + no double baffle) = 4.6ft3 gross that you have to work with. As far as ports are concerned, I wouldn't suggest doing a removable port. It's a pain in the ass IMO and will just be much more work than I'm guessing you'd want to put into this small of a setup. I'd suggest just a standard slot port and if u wanna make it a lil different than other slot ports, just kerf the port. It will allow a lil better airflow plus it just looks a lot cooler than a standard slot does. Also could use aero ports like 2-3 4" ports or a single 6". They will require less port area than a slot will, allows a lil better air flow than slot ports do(also get a little louder), and they can be adjusted if you use ones like PSP sells. You can just adjust what length the ports are, to get the tuning you're looking for by just taping the middle piece in place.

But answer the questions at the top first and we'll go from there.
