I get the disk in up and running fine and as soon i as i hit enter to began set up it says that it can not find any drivers. Has a sata driver? you guys go any ideas?? Neel Posted December 20, 2009 Report Share Posted December 20, 2009 Yes , its very easy. Basically your OS disc does not have the sata drivers needed to install XP. If you had the original gateway discs you could easily install it without any problems. So heres how you fix it... Go to gateways website and download the correct sata driver for your laptop and put it on a floppy disc (yes a floppy disc!) I am assuming your laptop does not have a floppy disc drive so you will need to find a USB floppy drive to plug in. So put the floppy disc in the drive then plug it into your laptop. Now start installing the OS and when at the bottom it says “Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver…” press F6 and then go from there, if you have downloaded the correct driver from gateway it will work. You will now be able to complete your windows installation. Its really easy , be patient and keep us updated Quote Too Much Stuff to list .
