D-Rock4540 Posted December 11, 2009 Report Posted December 11, 2009 Ditched the Infinity Kappas i was using and decided to go with the new Kicker QS 65.2s. Out of the box you will notice the mids are massive (and they have woven freakin tinsel leads)! The tweeters look similar to the SS series and the crossovers are beautiful! After a little difficulty mounting the tweets ( my door panel is curved so it was hard to get the plastic nut on the tweeter snug) i had them in and gave them a test run. First song was Christmas Eve Sarajevo by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra because it has a great intro that morphs to some heavy guitar riffs and its the season anyway! Holy Jesus did my truck come alive when the beat picked up, i closed my eyes and felt like i was in the room almost as if i could touch the guitarists it was so amazing i got goosebumps. The clarity and depth of these QS are absolutely stunning. Next i fed them a little Hotel California (live acoustic). For those who don't have this version it starts with crowd cheering and a little acoustic intro. Again same thing i closed my eyes and was engulfed in the crowd standing shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of others. The warmth of the acoustic guitar just blew me away and the vocals were crisp and clear. Also as a note i was NOT listening to these speakers on axis at a moderate volume they were more than 3/4 volume as i sat in the drivers seat doors closed windows closed. I hate reading reviews when people listen to the speakers on axis or don't push them to their potential. Ok, i tried to keep with pretty decent SQ songs but i had to play Santeria By Sublime just because my Kappas meshed so well with my BTLs i had to see the difference an of course i wasn't disappointed. This testing went on for almost an hour listening to Robert Miles, Gorilla Zoe, Guns and Roses, Tech Nine, Garth Brooks (yes i like all music) and more. baggedon4s Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 So they dont suffer from the flatness on the low end like the SS did?? 99 suburban, ranger rover headlights, SS front bumper,roll pan with frenched tag, 2nd row delete,glassed dash..audio to come whenever I figure out what I want.

And also I re-ran all my mid wires to the crossovers from the amps and bi-amplified them and the tweets are fine they were not blown. It was either a lack of power or badaudio on my part cause my iPod cable did fail like the next day... bcgator989 Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 I just bought the Kicker QS as well for my 06 Honda Civic. I have not put them in yet but I already know their going to be a great speaker. Is there a great coaxial to complement them to go in my back seat thats cost effective as well? Unfortunately I'm a broke college student and cant afford to drop more money on another set of the QS
