Decaf
The SAE-1200D is a very under-rated amp... if your sine wave for gain setting is recorded at a lower level than the music you listen to then your actual power delivery will be higher. i think he used -3 or -5db which is standard and really only djbilly and sine waves are louder than that (it is a niice amp) u have me perplexed with ur issue, it should be solved by now, ugh
LoudBimmer
so i should lower my output voltage to 22-23V? what's the actual rms on this amp at 25V output voltage?
Decaf
either way u have a small box so it should be fine with an extra 100w, lol maybe uve already dont alot of damage to the coil already... what does the color of the coil look like to you when u took it out to wire it correctly
LoudBimmer
idk, i will take it out today again to check all the wiring and will snap a picture of it. i thought the amp will put out different voltage on different voltage 12.8V actual rms in manual 14.4 higher then normal i will check coils today with DMM

LoudBimmer
so what should i do? lower it to 20V-22V?
Decaf
so what should i do? lower it to 20V-22V? u should locate an oscope ask colleges near you with majors in something electrically related autozone a diesel truck shop that would help figure out the best headunit settings then u can set ur gain knowing its clean after that if u have stink, get a different sub, lol
LoudBimmer
well, good news is both coil are good ( 2 ohms), i changed output voltage to 20V, and car voltage drops to 11.8-12.0V. quick question. by electrical upgrade you mean new alt or add another battery in the back?
