Sooo.. Aeros lol

Recommended Posts

Alright i am a newbie to flared port id like to know if 2 4" ports will have similar results to a single 8" aero?

according to carstereo.com 2 4" would need 15 or so inches

and a single 8" aero would need to be 28" long

box being 4.5 cubes tuned to 28-29 hz

box is for a single 18 t3 tsns on a sundown 3500 at 0.7 at 19v

also would a 90 degree turn affect port performance?

like a pipe fitting

you know area doesnt add like that dont you..

2 fours is more equal to a 6" port

if you do bend it. i would get to fittin that is about a 4 inch radius bend not the real tight bend. there are names for them at lowes but i dont remember what it is

also. i dont know if its right, but i usually do 8 to 12 sq in of port per cube of volume with the flared round ports,

edit. isnt that box kinda small for an 18?

well 1st off you wont find any pipe fittings that will fit flared ports. unless you make your own ports. two 4" flared ports will not be the same as 1 8". it would be closer to one 6". my box is 5 cubes with two 6" flared ports. now i know you want to be loud so i would go bigger than those two 4" ports. maybe 4 of them. i hear the larger ports work better but ive never done testing. look at psp-inc.com, they have a very simple calculator for their ports.

lol box is small but in my testing i can get away with it

small box + big port = high numbers ;)

ya, i would do the two 6" ports or one 8"
