hdc15 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Share Posted January 2, 2010 i have a 79 ford 250 pick up with the 400 big block in it and a c-6 auto tranny. the motor threw a rod. i have a ford 352 FE engine sittin here and am going to put it in. only problem is, i need an adapter plate for the tranny. the bell housing doent match up. AR1684 Posted January 4, 2010 Report Share Posted January 4, 2010 dont think such a thing exhists, the 351m/c/400m/429/460 have the same bell housing, those would all bolt up to your transmission. the 352/360/390/428 are all the same bell housing which is different than what you have. this is one of the genius things about gm's only using one bell housing for all their engines for the most part.
