Actually not a bad idea to mockup your layout 1st... Cheaper and easier to trial and error with that than MDF... What are you doing for Mids and Highs??? I guess you don't care about giving up the whole hatch for da Enclosure? I wish I could get away with that, but the small system I'm workin on is going in the family Hauler (2005 Trail Blazer)... Fumes, noise and moisture can all make their way in via the leak... I'd say atleast find something to caulk it up with...
