Hey everyone. So a good friend of mine has a Level 4 DC 15", but it hasn't been in use for like 3 months since he got rid of his old amp, and his truck. Now, we want to put it in the back of my Ford Ranger. Although, he isnt nearly as savvy about car audio as I am. He kinda got lucky and bought the sub and box from a guy at his work, little did he know how good of a sub he had really gotten. Anyways, he says if we put it in my truck he's buying the amp. He wants to give it 2k daily, and is blurting things out like he wants to use a SAZ 3000.1 and ridiculous things like that which im pretty sure would blow the sub up in a matter of seconds. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a SAZ 1000.1 which I still think would probably be a little too much power for it. So I have came here to ask my fellow bassheads advice. How much do you think is safe and what amp SHOULD we use?

for just 1 sub, 1000 watts or so is correct.

try a sundown 1000, or 1200. a sundown 1500 will be just a bit too much power to run reliably.
