enemyofsilence Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 I have 2 Pairs of SoundStream TRC.6n THESE. i want to put a pair of mids and tweets on the 2 front doors door. they are 4ohm component sets. my question is if i wire my mids parallel to 2ohm, will my crossover be able to handle the 2ohm load instead of 4? and would my amp read it as 2ohms? i would rather have one crossover per set instead of 2. it would take less room and give me a lower load. any input w past experiences would help! thanks Team Bass-Hz
Blackedout Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 Are you running the SS VG 400.2, 600.2, 800.2? If it were me, I'd try... Slowly turn up the volume and see what the crossover does. If it doesn't work out, run active on two amps.... One for tweets and one for mids. Doing so will likely keep you from blowing tweeters as well as getting the exact amount of high range for your ears. Harsh Tweets FTL... Trunk Build Log
enemyofsilence Posted January 10, 2010 Author Report Posted January 10, 2010 i have a ss vga 500.4 running active was going to be my second choice if the crossovers couldnt handle the load. well i will try and see how it reacts when i do. if it doesnt work, then i gotta shop for a small 2-chan for muh tweets.
