joshemerson Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Well my step dad bought this amp at a yard sale a few years ago because it was cheap and the guy swore it worked. Then he turned around and sold it to a guy he worked with and the guy said it didn't work. Now we have it again I hooked it up today and it wouldn't even light up like it was on so I opened it up and found out that part of the board is like melted or something... Then these things are directly over it.. Here's a pic of the amp's case I'm wondering could I fix this simply or it trashed Thanks, Josh All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

Boon Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Squinting hard at that pic it looks like a cap has leaked and the electrolyte has fucked up the PCB. Difficult to say though. 10.x volts fo' life!

If that is the case would the amp need to be trashed it is that fixable? I'll try and get some pics when I get home from school this afternoon. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
