need help wit settin gains on amps and line driver

i have 2 concept 2410 amps runnig 4 15s, i have a alpine tv and the volts is only 2 volts so i have a line driver, i set my gains by ear, the line driver is up maybe 3/4, and my amps are all the way down, what would be the best way to set them, turn the amps up and turn the driver down, or leave it the way it is, it sounds good now but just wanna now the better way to do it,

when i set my line drive, i unplugged my rca's at the amp, and put my multimeter leads on it, and read how much volts were coming to the amp, and adjusted the line driver that way (had the deck set up to loudest i would listen to it) and set it for 6 volts (max sundown amps take) im not sure if this is how other people set theirs, but its how i did mine so i know how many volts are going to my amp at the loudest point i would be listening to it at. then after i set my amp with the DMM as i dont have an O-scope.

I suggest you try to locate or acquire an o-scope. Those line drivers put out some funky waves and clip easily. At least my Memphis one would. It was a 9V driver, but clipped above 5V. After tuning, the increase in sound was very impressive though!

i set it by ear pretty good theres no clipping just wanted to see what the best way to do it was

maybe leave it where you have it set now, and pull the rca's and play the volume as loud as you do and see what voltage its giving out?

pull the rca's out of your amp, and put your leads on that to measure how many volts your amp is seeing at what ever volume you listen to it at. so your rca's will come out of your deck, into your line driver, then out to the amp (pull them out at amp, put test leads on, turn volume up to max what you listen to it at, and read how many volts)
