whats going on guys,

i have a 99 durango that already has 2 15" DC audio lvl 4's, thats being powered by a power acoustik thats 1800 watts rms @ 2 ohms, i built the box my self, and it worked fine for a while. now i feel its the time to rebuild the box there for i need a new subwoofer box design, and im going to build it correctly.

i also just ordered 2 sets of infinity kappa 60.9cs and an amp to power them

as of right now i need a new alternator, im looking for something in the 450$-550$ range

also im in need of some sound deadening, id like to get some on the doors, and cover all of the rear end or atleast what rattles...

please give me any advice you guys can come up with it would be a lot of help

here are a few pictures of what the truck looks like as of right now, with stock door panel speakers and my shitly made subwoofer box

well as far as equipment... hows ur electrical? is big 3 done? are u using 0ga? KnuKoncpetz has great products...

Get a couple Batteries. or a 1 real big one in the front.. im using a powermaster d3100 in the front. someone here is selling yellow tops for pretty cheap...

ur subs are good... jus make sure u build a proper box for it...

get a better amp... Sundown or DAT would be nice... i saw some guys selling Sundown amps here...

deadner ... there is 2nd skin, dynamat (but get the Pro, i read bad reviews for the regular stuff.)

DC power for the alt... great customer service...

Its all about the build quality... and box design... you can have the best equipment in the world... but if you dont build a box properly... you wont get the most out of your subs...

oh and another thing... keep this in mind...

"Everyone want there system to be...

Cheap

Reliable

Loud

you can only chose 2..."

My first truck... My first Real build...

*Update 8/9/10 DC Power 270xp Alt is In!!!*

1997 Toyota T-100 DC Level 5 18" in a T-line

Everybody wants their system to be....

1. Cheap

2. Reliable

3. Loud

...you can only pick two.

thank you very much for the input, and yea i realized you can only chose two with what you said. Do you think two yellow tops would do it? One in front and one in back, with a high output alternator. Im going to have to msg one of the guys from DC power to get a quote about an alternator. Also i think for now im going to stick with the Power Acoustiks amp at least until i beef up my alternator and electrical. No big three isn't done as of right now. I was planning on doing that along with the alternator install. I also need to redesign my box badly, the box i have right now is built to spec, just not done entirely the correct way. I should have reinforced it better, and made it more solid, and i realize that now. With the sound deadening, I will probably do that after i beef up the electrical. i think my problem was that i wanted to bump right away and figured i would get around to doing it the right way, when i should have done it the right way from the beginning that way i didn't have to go back and basically do it all over again like i have to do now. oh well i guess ill learn from my mistake.

If i get the dimensions of my cargo area, and give someone a ruff idea on how i want the box designed, can someone design me a box fo' free? I'm not looking for some completely outrageous design, just a basic width height depth slot port area cut out dimensions for 2 15" DC audio lvl 4's and cubic feet

if no one is willing to help me out for free maybe we can come up with some kind of paypal agreement

I have the same durango and I am doing a monster build in it.

Just a FYI, the resonant frequency is @ 49-50 hz

Sound deaden the roof and all doors including the hatch!

I would look into Kinetik or PowerMaster for batteries and either DC or Mechman for an alternator. I can get you a custom built one for your durango as I have a couple of them.
