gene
My SH**TY first system is composed of a Visionik 12" Sub in a sealed box, with a 3 or 5 hundred watt amp. Im not sure. But my problem is that about a week ago, I flipped my sub to face up so that it wouldn't be bouncing off of the back of my seat, and since my amp has gone into protect mode. I flipped it back over, checked all the mires, fuses, EVERYTHING. the sub is good and all. I cannot figure out why it keeps going into protect mode. If i take the wires out of the back of the sub and put them back in it will turn green, but as soon as i play music the sub with hit for about 1 second before the amp shuts off and turns back to protect mode. PLEASSEEE HELP.

PLEASSEEE HELP. Is this a dual voice coil sub? Maybe you wired it to too low an ohm load for your amp when you flipped it. 528hz
Too low of an ohm load is my suggestion as well. Check your wiring again to make sure...
gene
so if there is too low of an ohm load how do i fix it?
528hz
Check your wiring at the sub connections. What ohm load is your amp stable at? What ohm load is your sub? Dual 2, dual 4...?
Guest
visoniks are 4 ohms stable from what i know about them. you might have it at 2 ohms. no way to tell w/o pics or something similar
gene
Im not sure but i think it has to do with where the positive, negative wires connect. because if wiggle them the sub will jolt on and off. Im stuck. i have no idea whats wrong.
STEvil
If wiggling them causes the sub to jolt on and off then there is likely a wire grounding out somewhere or the coils may have shorted together. Make sure your wires are clean all the way from the amp to the sub and all connections between (no ends poking out all over touching things they shouldnt) and that the connections at each terminal (on sub, box, and amp) are all clean. I'm going to bet there is a loose wire inside the box. Quote MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
