looking for advice on electrical upgrades

hey guys, I am looking for some advice. I currently have a crappy woofer system in my car, which consists of a kenwood subwoofer, and a concept amp....I am looking to upgrade. I bought a rockford p1000-1bd and will be hooking a p3 up to it @ 2 ohm for 500w of power. I will also be installing some 4 channel amp to run my alpine type s components...and rockford tweeters (have not decided on exact model yet). I am wondering what electrical adjustments I will need to make. The vehicle its going in is a 96 civic. My questions are: Do I need to upgrade my alt and battery? Would a simple battery upgrade to a yellow top be enough? Or a simple alt upgrade? I do plan on upgrading the big 3 would that be enough?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Do it step by step sir, first see how much voltage drop you're actually getting. If your headlights are completely getting murdered and dimmed, do a big 3 upgrade. From there if your still getting voltage drop, you should decide to get a larger battery or a HO alternator. But for a 500W sub and running some speaker components, i dont think you'll such a heavy duty alternator.

K, sounds good I guess I will do incremental upgrades as I see need for.
