I just got a set of 6-1/2's and a set of 6x9's and was wondering what would be the best size of wire for them 10,12, or 14 ? What do u guys think of the stinger twisted wire it comes with that plastic covering to keep the wires all nice and together? One last question whats a good site to find dash kits and wiring harnesses any help is appreciated.

I use the Stinger HPM 14g twisted.... much better than regular wire, or even knukonceptz twisted....its got a supersoft and flexible jacket.

ya i understand but it is just door speakers, not like theyre creating a great amount of force.

i guess i jus wouldnt waste the time of soldering them, but thats me

I have seen people who didn't solder their in-door speaker connections and fried there amp and speakers b/c it came loose and grounded out. Remember how many times you open and close your doors.... SOLDER them.

I have no clue what that amp puts out or what kind of load each channel will see so ill let you take a look at this and decide

Its a 600 watt alpine 4channel amp and i kinda get those numbers so i will take it as yes, 14 gauge wire will be fine for the speakers to run too.

I just had to redo 2 of my speakers last week because they would crackle when i hit a bump. Turns out the TAPE came off and the TWIST loosened up. I soldered them this time.

Wish i would have soldered to begin with..

Definitely not a "waste" of time.
