bkolfo4
Help with noise from the high velocity air that will be moving along the edges of the port. If you can get enough of a rounded edge, it can improve the performance of the port, but a small 1/2" - 3/4" round over will just help with port noise, since your port will be on the small side. Ben Building
no one will ever agree with putting a BTL in a sealed box, i still suggest trying it before you go out and sell the BTL and buy new subs, you never know, you might like the sound of it in a sealed box and decide not to get new onesi say what ever the recc for ported is, cut that in half and use that, my sealed box is about 4 cubes after displacement, and works really well.. and the rec for my subs are 4 cubes each ported I have built sealed enclosures for 18s that EBP'ed strongly-ported before for the same reasons as you and had great results. The lows for a heavy 18 in a sealed enclosure can be tremendous. To be fair, I have also literally torn a few 18s up in sealed boxes. The suspension of the sub has to move much more in a sealed box, so there is the potential for the sub to be damaged mechanically. However, the BTL is tough. I don't know that you'll hurt it mechanically with only 2000 watts RMS.
