were trying to hook up cd player but won"t turn on

we have tryed 2 diffrent decks, checked the fuses and nothing is working

What year? Double check your power and ground wires. Try running a new power wire from the fuse box to see if it turns on.

its an 88 also the stock deck works fine

If your using a harness make sure wires on the deck side actually match up with those on the stock wiring plug. I installed a stereo for someone who bought the wire harness for their car, but for some reason it had the wires not paired up right.
