brace top to bottom behind magnet

throw on another baffle on the outside

ive got a double baffle and what is the urpose of bracing the back and front will it really make a diffrence?

well the double baffle isnt in the pics

the "golden rule" for bracing usually is that any span over 18-20" should be braced in some way

in the pic u can see that from the side to inner port wall its like 32-36"... right.... and its right behind the speaker

any flex at all = loss of spl... a simple dowel rod would have worked, but if u have left over 2x4 its easy to add above and below the brace that goes from port wall to side wall in the middle of the box, the one u notched out for the magnet

take ur knuckles and knock on the side wall with the brace.... now knock the middle of the top... its likely much deeper in tone... and thats what u are tryin to prevent with bracing in lamens terms

so it should make it louder if i brace it? The sub is so tight in there i have to hold the box upside down above like a piloow or somethin to catch the sub as someone bangs on the back of the box. thats why im askin will it really make a diffrence if i brace it more?
