Guest jbinn Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 I have an MRP alpine 400RMS I was over-volting it to 40v (from 28.28) for testing haha and my cone and amp heat up real bad, so I turned it back down it still gets warm is that a problem? also was this the cause to clipping the signal by almost 12v?

Guest jbinn Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 and i dont need a lecture about how people warned me, im turning it down now I just wanted to see if anything bad happened from it... dustcap heatup cant be good, so i turned it back to 30v... soooo now lol its still a little warm should I worry? this is a daily driver

Guest jbinn Posted March 1, 2010 Report Posted March 1, 2010 yeah i just did that @ 30v and it seemed really cool, a little little warm but barely noticable (i have really cold hands cause it soooo damn cold out so that might be why too) so yeah I think its straight, doesnt seem like its heating up as much now. another question if I tuned my HU to 26/30 volume with -2 bass @ 30v its like half as loud as my HU @ 28/30 0bass @ 30v does this make sense? lol
