TheSundownFire Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Basically I ended up with both a 4 pin Ad244 alt and 2 pin (I believe its an AD230?) alt. The latter came from an 05 Tahoe the first from an 02 Avalanche. The 4 pin on is one my car right now since it works there and the 2 pin doesnt. The 4 pin one is on its last leg i believe since its getting noisy at low RPMs. Im just curious if I can switch the Voltage Regulator and what not from the 4 pin on to the 2 pin one. No big deal if it doesnt. Ill just rebuild the 4 pin. Thanks guys. Edit: I found a video that explains how to do the reverse of what I want. 1999 Pontiac Sunfire Alpine CDA-9886 Sundown Audio SAZ-1000D Sundown Audio SAX-50.4 Rainbow SAC 265.25 Components Image Dynamics iD12 Optima Yellow Top SQFire FTW.

You can go backwards compatible with AD244 (DR44G) regulators, but you cant go forwards with the old OEM regulators, they wont fit the newer style recitifiers. If you need a 4 pin regulator for a new style AD244 that has a 2 pin regulator we usually have a few hundred of the 4 pin regs in stock and they are new OEM, not chinese aftermarket. Drop me or kyle a PM if you need one and we'll get you taken care of. Rob
