Toady Posted March 7, 2010 Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 I recently installed a DB high output alt for a 2000 grand am gt 3.4L v6, and it works great, but im getting a squeal noise that i think is from Belt Slippage, What belt what i need to run for this car. skittlesRgood Posted March 7, 2010 Report Share Posted March 7, 2010 just run down to your local auto parts store and have them look up your belt size. then tell them to get one size smaller. for example, my belts part number is 6888 and i need a 6882. the 6 is the ribs and the 888 is 88.8". do not go 2 sizes smaller. i just did that and fucked up my alt bearings and i think my tensioner pulley.
