jojo42
When using bolts instead of terminals, stainless steel thread would probably be best, but since I cannot find any at my local Home Depot or Lowes, would the stainless steel zinc coated ones suffice just the same? 01 S-10
Lowes should have the brass bolts which would probably be better. Someone correct me if i'm wrong but i'm almost positive brass is a better conductor. Quote TDH FTW !!!
kmalinich
well.. ideally.. you'd have threaded copper posts... lol
jojo42
So would the Zinc plated stainless steel ones work tho? Quote 2012 Ford Ranger: Build comming soon! Kenwood DNX-6160 DC 175.4 2 sets of O2 AR63 3-way Comps

kx519
http://www.nortoncable.com/products/conductivity-chart.jpg Why the fuck would battery posts be lead then? Thats stupid. And they get deformed and shit. sqsux
Thank you No problem, and since you said its only zinc coated I think you go by steel's conductivity, idk how that works. Prolly has something to do with acidity, since its a denser/heavier metal it doesn't get eaten away that easily? idk i'm horrible with science. Quote Start out boxy, shape as you move along. fritosaregood
Prolly has something to do with acidity, since its a denser/heavier metal it doesn't get eaten away that easily? idk i'm horrible with science. its not a very reactive metal. Gold is the least reactive, lead is right next to it on the periodic table, so i has close to the same properties. i wonder which is cheaper. and even thought copper and silver are better conductors.. they have a bad oxidizing problem. It weird how im almost failing chemistry but i remember this stuff.
