mikeg321 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 you measure voltage of just one channel. unless im very mistaken you want to do option C. that will set each channel to 125w. x2 Quote 4 fully loaded Fi sp4 15's 2 Crescendo bc5500s Crescendo c1100.4 6 focal mids Vifa tweets 5 XS Power d3100's Pioneer avh-p4200dvd All crammed into a mustang. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/150569-mikeg321s-fi-nendo-mustang-getting-walled-videos-page-4/
JZeFF Posted March 15, 2010 Author Report Posted March 15, 2010 Lol... so far i have gotten each answer except for B... So i set it by ear, lol. Turned the HU to 26/32.... turned off al adjustments.. and annoyed all my neighbors with a 1khz test tone for 10 minutes.. I would still like to know the correct answer though, haha. skittlesRgood Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 im going to try to break this down so you understand the way i understand it. i REALLY dont believe im wrong but there is always that chance. A, B, or C, which method is correct? A. 500 x 4 = 2000 Square root of 2000 = 44.72 (500 being the total power of the amp, 125w at 4ohms times 4) - 500w is the total power of the amp. to get the total power you would need to measure all 4 channels at the same time. or B. 250 x 4 = 1000 Square root of 1000 = 31.62 (250 being the 2 rear channels of the amp, 125w at 4ohm x 2) - channel 1 and 2 are on one gain and 3 and 4 are on another gain so 250w will ultimately be controlled by one gain but its split into 2 channels (cut in half) so unless you bridge channels 1/2 and 3/4 you wont see 250 out of one channel. or C. 125 x 4 = 500 Square root of 500 = 22.36 (125 obviously being 1 channel of the amp at 4 ohms) - the goal is to measure the voltage of each channel. each channel puts out 125w so this would be the correct answer. BUT, i just set the gains on my 4 channel by ear. Quote If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.
