4 fi Qs or 2 BTLs

Recommended Posts

Which setup would play louder and hit the lows better?

4 12" Fi Qs

2 Hifonics BXI 2010d amps (2 subs per amp wired down to 1 ohm)

A ported enclosure tuned to 30Hz with 2.2 cubes of airspace per chamber.

OR

2 18" Fi BTLs

2 Hifonics BXI 2010d Amps (One per Sub wired down to one ohm.)

A Ported enclosure tuned to 30 Hz with 5 cubes per chamber.

I'm getting a small Mazda Tribute though so at a decent height, I only have 13.2 cubes in my cargo area. If you add sub dispacement, port displacement, and the wood to make the woofer I have about just over 10 cubic feet of airspace. I'm thinking the Qs just based on the airspace

well is should get damn loud either way if you dont have an idea on amps i'd say either to AQ2200's or one AQ 3500.1

my fi q with bp takes a aq2200 at ohm daily so it can take the power

Thanks, if I get one I'd put 2 Qs on it. I don't wanna have to worry about it blowing. I was also checking out the Soundstream DTR1.2200 because i know that it's rated at 14.4 volts. Do you know anything about Soundstream and know if that rating is true?

Thanks for the input though. I am doing some research and checking reviews on the Audioque and didnt find anything negative. I like their price too..to bad theyre out of stock tho. Ill probably wait and get 2 Audioques.

Do you think I should put 2 "stock" Qs on the AQ2200 and wire it down to 1 ohm. Srry, Im kinda new with all this

its cool man and if you can afford it i say upgrade them that way if you want to increase power later down the road you'll be good to go. but two "stock" Q's should handel the Aq 2200 at one ohm no prob just set the amp correctly and you should never have a prob and since you say your new to this when you order the subs if you want to put 2 subs per amp and want a one ohm load have your subs be dual 1 ohm subs
