help re-adjusting gains please

Hey guys, if you checked out my latest vid i posted a few days ago then you will know that people

have been saying it could be hitting harder, but im confused here because on some songs

the amp clipping light comes on so it would be sweet if people with more knowledge could help me out

So if you guys could show me what the gains should be set to, to have the loudest possible beat that would be much appreciated

Here are my current amp and H/U settings (the red dot next to each setting is where the gain is set to)

Box = slot ported tuned to 32hz

Amp = AQ2200d

Sub = 18" BTL D2

Head unit settings

Sub lvl = 13 (max 15)

Bass lvl = 0

Tuned at 30 volume with 50hz tone (max volume 35) average listening volume is 22 (any higher and it starts to clip)

Also when I set the gains (with a DMM) I had my H/U Sub lvl to 13 already, i tried it with 0 once but that wasnt loud aswell

and came to the same outcome.

I took the remote out so I could get a clear pic, but I always use it

if you look down the topic page you will see a thread " need gain help audiogods ". there is explanations in there on how to do it. the other thread "biggest noob question" has a good link in it to a sheet of reference #'s for setting gains.

personally i set my sub to +10 so i would never clip it.

ok.... say you want 500 watts@1 ohm your dmm on ac volts would read 22.3. wattsxohms= ? then ? square rooted. then adjust your gain to that #.

some music on my ipod doesnt hit as hard as other music.hope this helps

Do the clipping trick. Turn the gain up until the amp starts clipping, then turn the gains down a few notches, and adjust the bass boost.

leave the bass boost where it is, if your gain can go high enough by to power the sub without clipping then bass boost is necessary.
