Can you invert subs with a head unit that does not have the setting to do so?

yep, like I said, just gotta switch some wires on the subs around. the H/U he has just switches the phase of the signal before the amp, meaning you don't have to rewire your subs :)

technichally it lowers it, but its not going to be a whole lot. maybe with 4 15's you'll drop tuning 3-5hz.

there is no sq difference (unless you have a woofer with a lot of mechanical noise) and output stays basically the same (maybe a tenth or so, in theory there shouldnt be any difference since the radiating area stays the same, but whatever)

Thanks for the info. I'm going to give this a try in the next few days and see if I like it.

Just to clear things up:

I have (2) 12s and all I need to do, since I don't have the setting on my HU, is reverse the negative and positive?
