BigYellowBlur78 Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 I plan on buy a Billet Shifter handle for my truck ( http://www.stylintrucks.com/part.aspx?category|category_root|-1=Interior&category|cat_-1|355=Billet+%26+Stainless+Interior&canned_results_trigger=&partfamilyid=165&partid=431177) but it requires relocation of Tow/Haul Button. There was an article in Truckin on how to install one ( http://www.truckinweb.com/tech/0902tr_2006_chevrolet_silverado/billet.html) . They used a momentary on/off switch from Radio Shack to engage the Tow/Haul mode. I have a bunch of toggle switches laying around, could I use those instead of the momentary on/off switch. I know it may sound like a dumb question. The momentary on/off switch needs to be pushed to engage tow/haul, then pushed again to disengage tow/haul. Wouldn't the toggle serve the same purpose, flip on to engage, flip off to disengage? Thanks
Boon Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 I doubt it. The circuit is expecting a pulse - you could probably go flick on-off to engage then flick on-off to disengage though. 10.x volts fo' life!
