Your just tickling those subs with that amp. I just fired up my 2 HDC3 15s on 7000 watts. They take your breath away in only 7.5 cubes net.

do port down the middle in the center, not along the bottom... tune to 34hz (ull still be able to play near 20hz) and give them more volume (15s like 4.5cuft and u are not giving them enuf power to justify a smaller enclosure)

brace brace brace, go get dowel rods next time and over do it.... its cheap and very effective
