ScreamingSkulls
Hello everyone and please excuse the ignorance as this may sound like a stupid question. I have searched and search to find out if it's possible to do the following. My brother has a crossfire VR401 that I gave him and I really need it back as I have a Memphis Shallow 12. Anyways he has the following speakers: 2 Diamond CM310D2 (DVC 2ohm) Amp I have that I was going to give him: Sony 2 channel 800w Model: XM-ZR1252 Sony - Xplod 800W Class AB Bridgeable 2-Channel Amplifier - XM-ZR1252 Continuous Watts per Channel (4 Ohms) 125 x 2Continuous Watts per Channel (2 Ohms) 170 x 2 Continuous Watts Bridged 340 Max Power Watts per Channel (4 Ohms) 280 x 2 Max Power Watts per Channel (2 Ohms) 400 Max Power Watts per Channel (4 Ohms Bridged) Right now his subs are getting a 2 ohm stable wired to the Crossfire VR401 which is providing him 400W x 1 RMS at 2 ohm. I don't want to screw him over so I'm trying to see if the sony amp would provide a close RMS/Watts as the crossfire is. Thanks for all your help. ScreamingSkulls
http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp there is ur answer bro Thanks and I know about that site and rockfords diagrams but I'm unable to find any info on 2ohm to 4ohm so I guess it would be safe to assume it can't be done. Based off the amp details I gave you above the best wiring I can do for my little brother is to wire it up to the amp in 2 ohm load which would give me Continuous Watts per Channel (2 Ohms) 170 x 2 (170 per sub)? Is this the best possible solution you can see? Thanks again.
