Wanna donate your PC's time for a while?

Over on Xtremesystems.org (PC and Overclocking Enthusiast website) we're having a supercomputer challenge for WCG (World Computing Grid). If you've heard of Folding@Home or Seti@Home or anything like those, that is the basics of what WCG is. Here's the offical thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/announcement.php?f=144&a=75

If you are unfamiliar with what those programs are, then this is what it is in a nutshell: It is AIDS, cancer, and Muscular Dystrophy research. There are a few other projects thrown in too, but those are the main ones that most of our team focuses on (we're almost the #1 team in the WCG project btw).

Anyways, to keep this short, if anyone is interested in donating a week (or staying around for longer) for the challenge they can find all of the information required to join in on it here (takes 5-7 minutes): http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=230613

If you do join, maybe put something like "[sMD]" at the front of your username to denote where you originated from as well, if you can :)

I should also let you know that the program is processor intensive. For most systems it will be perfectly safe to run, but there's always those 5-10% of horribly designed ones.. or that are on their last legs lol ;)

Thanks for your time guys, hope to see a couple people kick some resources in :)

If you register on the forums to ask questions i'm also known as "STEvil" there. Registrations are all done manually and you dont always get a notification so if you havent had one for a few days just try logging in and posting ;)

Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through.
