fritosaregood
i have to disagree. i know a few guys with 1 18" or 2 15"s doing 145-147db and they can do hairtricks. on music i could do 149.5ish and i couldnt get a hairtrick. i burped a 150.4 but never did a tone with a girl in the window. hey skittles, I finally got just a hair over your score, i got a 150.5 sealed up on the dash @ 41hz. no vid or pic though cuz i was doing power testing and just writing it all down. and on topic, i also did a half ass hairtrick with a single 15, in a 2 cube box, 22hz tune, 25sqinches of port, on 3k. It did the trick at 20 hz, Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970

fritosaregood
22 hz tuning??? damn!! i bet it sounded like crap over 40 hz hehe, just a moving hair box right? It actually did pretty good, peaked on the termlab at 42hz i think with a 144.4 i think. I did a 140.1 at 25hz. It was a mess up box that turned out real well. It was an attempt a a tline before i knew all the rules to building one Quote seller feedback: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=61719 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...showtopic=68281 build log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44800 Gf's build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/54346-kickergirls-camaro-new-box-pg-5/#entry753970
fecupe2001
Damn, very flat respond!! That´s nice, i´m gonna build a box for moving hair, but nothing below 35 hz tuning i guess, don´t wanna loose the 40-44 hz that i like so much Quote I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. fecupe2001
Well, there´s a very simple rule on port area, 12-16 SQ of port per each cubic feet, it´s very good if it´s a simple box, but there are subs that likes smaller, others bigger, for example, my DD´s LOVE at least 16 SQ of port per cubic feet; Also, depends on the power, if it´s a small power you don´t have enough for a big port and viceverse. Said that, you find out how much internal space you want for the box, you get how many SQ of port you need, and the tuning just use the12volts.com or any other online calculator for the port depth, that´s pretty much it, of course, it´s way more complex than that if you are competing or something, but for a simple box, that´s the easiest way...
