i see what ur saying it will go bad because its a 16v battery but couldnt i just use the 12v like i have it setup now, i have my power wire 0gauge from my front bat to the back so the alt can keep both charged, im not the type of person who plays my music constantly ill play it for about 30 minutes, let it charge and play again. what i want to know is its @ 14.3 idle drops to around 13.6 on music when i was testing it, after i was done testing it still read 14.3 idle, that was with both bats hooked up ect

WTF, I never thought I'd have a conversation about cross dressers and trans-genders on a car audio forum.

You are only using a portion of the battery to run a 12V system. If you are only charging at 12V, you are getting shit for voltage anyways. Even charging the 16v post at ~17.5v-17.8v, I am only seeing 12.1-12.2v on the 12v side.

That is how it will be due to how that battery works..... the 12 volt post on the battery is only using part of the battery, only some of the cells, to supply 12v. Then all of the cells are used to supply the 16v. The alt is supposed to be keeping the voltage up on the 16 volt side, so your 12V side gets charged, although weak anyways. You are only charging certain cells and seeing a higher voltage, while the rest of your battery is neglected. They are designed for 16V application.

But what do we know. Why don't you just ask your 'experienced' buddy rather than telling us we're wrong?

well im probably about 40 miles from indy, i didnt need you to get an attitude about it, i just needed input on the batts my buddy bought one also and he's had his running in his car for 2 years, something must be wrong there i guess, haha anyways, i guess ill get a different battery but the main reason was a alternator , there is alternators that will charge 16v batterys with ease.
