My buddy used 5 ply for his box with 2 15s it lasted about 31/2 months maybe a little longer. I have always used MDF which is $30 a sheet by me. But i am curious to how this comes out, let us know?

i built my box out of birch for my SX 12's. i just brad nailed it and glue and that bitch is solid. put some braces on the inside and no double baffle. and its been around 2 1/2 months. bitch is still together. and its so much lighter than mdf. but it has a distinct smell. thats the only drawback for me.

well... ill have a triple baffle ( once sub holes are cut there isnt much left to it) ill be screwing and using lots of glue and braces i dont mind the smell of it... if it bugs me ill throw an air freshner infront of the port!

alright... so when i go to assemble this box.. i realize i forgot to get the back of the box cut...

i dont have enough birch to so it would it be a bad idea to use MDF for the back panel of the box?
