A thousand people have probably already asked this but here it goes:

How can I drop a 4ohm sub to a 2ohm without using another sub.

Yes i know all about the parallel wiring but the fact is I have one sub end of story lol.

Is this even possible? Is there a way I can buy just a 4ohm resistor and parallel that?

Need help/answers

Thanks

if its not a dual 4 ohm sub then there is nothing u can do but buy a different sub with the impedance you need, or add another single 4 ohm sub in to the setup...which you said you didnt want to do.

oh, there is another option, which is buy an amp that puts ou the power you need at 4 ohms.

yep thats what i thought had to happen.

i don't that kinda phases me that there is NOTHING I can do for this problem except buy another sub or amp for the specs.

Why doesn't a resistor work again? How bad is the heat problem?

ive never heard of dooing that?? but it sounds hella jank and all i can picture is a car on fire!

just bang what you have for now and save up and upgrade later! its probably worth it in the long run

its just kind of difficult to find a 4 ohm resistor that can handle the power you will be putting through it.

Also, you would be not only wasting power from the amp (creating heat), you will also be pulling more current for nothing.

EDIT: just dont do it.
