Dltnjest Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Hi guys .. The other day I somehow messed up my Rockford Fosgate 201S installing it. Maybe I touched the + and - together or something .. But when I opened it up this is what I found What happened to it, and is it worth fixing, and if so, how much and can I do it myself? I thought it was just a resistor or something, but maybe its a mosfet.
Boon Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 It's a MOSFET, appears to be one in the power supply section. Probably more than 1 is dead, too. Chances are your amp's a paperweight. They're not complex amps but the MEHSA thing and the little surface mount parts make them very labor intensive (read: expensive) to repair. 10.x volts fo' life!
