Maxim Posted May 20, 2010 Report Share Posted May 20, 2010 So I'm getting started on a build I'm doing for my friend. Fi SSD 15" in the trunk of his Crown Vic. I planned on powering it with an AudioPipe 1500d. This is the first time I'm actually picking out the sub and amp (usually I'm given stuff to install). The sub will be wired to 2 ohms (dual 1 coils), so the amp should do 950rms. I'm not super concerned about over-powering it by 150 watts (I'll set the gains correctly). Now, here's the questions I'm hoping I can get answers to: 1) What is a flatwind coil? From what I understand, it allows for more power to be given to the sub. Is this necessary with 950rms going to the sub? 2) What is BP power? No idea what this one is, but again is it necessary? I don't want to make him pay the extra $50 for options on the sub if he won't need them. If they're necessary, however, I'll definitely have him order the extra options. wtf is lolcats? I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers. I was hoping for 150 .
