gsxr71404 Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 Thinking of buying my buddies 2 12 JL sob box. i got 2 10's JL's right now with a older model kenwood 1000w amp. My stuff is old cause i had it in my car about 5 or so years ago and had to yank it all out cause the wife hade to drive it and couldn't ever arm the alarm....WTF!!!! Anyways i said f it and dusted it off and put it in my colorado ext cab truck the other day. It sounds great. but my buddy wants to get rid of his 2 12 inch JL new subs for 300 bucks. Cant pass that up. don't need them but want them.......DAMN IT!! should i just ride with the amp i got and or should i go with two amps and shoot for 1 ohms with each amp or just buy a newer 1000w amp and bridge it and shoot for 1 ohm? it's been a while scince i messed with all this sterio stuff. how do i get 1 ohm out of a amp?????????? Stephen Posted May 23, 2010 Report Posted May 23, 2010 you dont get 1ohm out of an amp. and your not going to find many if any 2 channel amps that are stable at 1 ohm bridged. i have one though you can cook bacon shirtless if you're not a pussy...lol not hatin, but am i wrong here it looks as if the amp is not grounded its hooked directly to the battery. it that the way it should be. JL sounds good but not many users prefer it on this forum. Nothin wrong with em tho. 200a alt. by Excessive Amperage hc800 under hood & 2 Deka 9a31 in rear 1/0awg + big 3 SAZ 3000D HDC3 18" @ 2 ohm
