ChevyFan Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 I got my subs installed by bestbuy which wasent the best of ideas but.. when the install was done i didnt come back until a few years later to upgrade my subs and the guy that originally did the installation did not work there anymore. The installers that were there the second time through were like WTF?I have never seen subs wired this way before, so they left it how it was. i was just wondering if anyone has ever seen wiring done this way. Ive never seen it done this way before in my previous rides so i was just wondering if this is normal.

Robert8252 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Interesting. Take it that ran to a toggle switch to turn your amp on and off? Lazy fucks at best buy. Lol i dont know that much about wiring but bestbuy thought this was the best way to wire it lol. And yes that blue wire goes to my amp. and the pruple wire is crimped into the power cable. 0_o there is also a line converter wired in.

You need to run that wire into behind your head unit and tap into the aux output. Nope theres no toggleswitch. For some reason i think that relay has something to do with the remote lock/unlock. Its never had the range or works like it used to since they touched it.
ChevyFan Posted May 25, 2010 Author Report Posted May 25, 2010 I used to have a Rockford fosgate punch 700s which powered 2 poweracoustik fubr 12's which hit like crazy. then it started blowing 100amp fuses over and over, so the tards at bestbuy blamed it as the amp. so i got a new amp which puts out more power than this one but does not hit nearly as hard as the rockford.
Robert8252 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Ok. So I didn't install your stuff but here's some guesses. That could be for your domelight if you have a aftermaket alarm. Most alarms have a neg done light output and require a relay to get them power when you unlock the car.
