DJ JDub Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 While driving with my system (which includes 2 mtx ta4501 amps and 4 mtx t5512 subs) my lights dim a lot. i have a second battery and they still dim, does anyone know what do i have to do to solve this problem. PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
7jezuz7 Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 I'm gonna go ahead and say bad grounds, or you drained your batteries too much to be able to keep up. How is your second battery hooked up? Ground cleared of all paint and is a straight metal contact? An Audio Technix 18" Strato on a Kicker KX120.2 My Youtube Bass Vids Updates When Possible... Hellbound Train Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 Check out the big 3 upgrade. It makes a great difference if your electrical. Also check your grounds and if necessary move them to a better location depending on where they are. Some locations such as closer to the frame or directly to the frame are much better to help keep things stable because there is less resistance. Be sure to sand down the area around the grounds position and rid of any paint. Check to be sure that your positive cable to your battery is large enough to handle the current. You also may want to check the charge on your batteries and be sure that you have not drained them to a voltage that is to low for your alternator to keep up with. Also is your alternator capable of supplying the power needed. There are many factors when you have an issue with your electrical.

For me locally 1/0 runs about $5 something a ft. DJ JDub Posted June 4, 2010 Author Report Posted June 4, 2010 im going to do the big three. now that i think of it my alt. cable to the battery is still stock so that could be my problem, but would a diode between the batterys work? if anyone knows about diodes I doubt you'll find cheaper than KnuKonceptz wire.
