lance_98main Posted June 5, 2010 Report Share Posted June 5, 2010 (edited) using various calculators you can get to from this website, or using math, you can tune a ported box to play better at certain frequencies.the tuning is determined by the length of the port. You can tune it to play the lows which would be like 28-34 hz, or tune it higher than that, which in most cases will be a little more meter friendly. check out the subwoofers/enclosure section on this forum, and start reading, you will learn all about it. Re audio has a box calculator for free, torres calculator is another one, which is a lot more accurate, and you can get it from this forum as well.there a lots of members on here who will design you a box for a little donation, and who knows you may find someone to design one for you for free. best thing to do is start building, use the box calculators and go to town. build a couple test boxes, the best way to learn is to just dig in and do it, plus you will be a lot happier with your system if you put a little blood, sweat, and tears into it. If you are going from a sealed box backround, you will be amazed with the world of ported boxes!!!!!
