well i want the height to be 12" the width to be 24" and depth to be 12" so cuft is LxWxH so 1ftx2ftx1ft which that would be 2cuft Correct? But making the port is really where im confused. I dont really understand what "height", "Width", and "Length" is. Like is the Length the part of the port that that actually goes into the box? Or is that the Width? Wood is gonna be .75 thickness so basically its only the port dimensions i need help with really, i think lol. Any help is appreciated man! Thanks! :drink40:

2cu^ft would be right if that were the internal demensions. Are they? And yes lenght is how "deep" the port is. The part that goes into the box lol. Width and height are how tall and wide the port is.

Alright thanks that clears up some of the port questions. But the 12x24x12 was the outer dimensions, so i guess I need to calculate for the wood thickness and make it 12.75x24.75x12.75? Whats confusing me is that the port just seems so tiny. Its says Port height is 1", width is 4.2" and length is 3" to give me 37.14Hz. Am i doing something wrong or is it suppose to be that small? Gah, i feel like an idiot using this thing haha.

Alright i might have something figured out. Box: Height= 12.75", Width= 12.75", Depth= 24.75". Port: Height= 2", Width= 8.5", Length= 22"....Thats 1.7ft^3 gross volume and 1.25ft^3 for net volume after all displacement. Port Area= 17in^2, and Port Area per foot is 13.6in^2 tuned to 37.24Hz...A little smaller then i was looking for but the subs require .6-1cuft each at 12-16in of port per cuft(what it said in the box calculators directions lol) so my box will be close to the minimum required. Ill play around with it a little more, but does all that seem pretty close to right?

If your planning on making a slot port box you need to adjust your port size. 11.25 height x whatever gives you the port area you need. I just threw it in the calculator myself. 11.25 x 1.75 with the dimensions you provided. That will get you a 1.25 net volume tuned to 38.5hz with a port length of 24 inches and 15.75 sq inch of port per cube. If your building a slot port and using the top, bottom and side wall of the box put 3 in the box for # of common port walls. You also need to add in for sub displacement, I just guessed and entered .1 for the 2 - 8's.

Wow thanks Hobby that works out great! I think im gonna use 11" for the height instead of 11.25" so ill be at exactly 38Hz but everything just looks great. I was only using 1 common wall but i want 3 so i think this will work out. Everything is matching up how i need it to be and i actually think i can work this thing decently now. Thanks for all the help guys! :good:
