Some newer car's pcms need so much voltage to actually start up. I think it's 11.x, I can't remember lol.

you do need more port area that's kinda small.

2cu^ft would be right if that were the internal demensions. Are they? And yes lenght is how "deep" the port is. The part that goes into the box lol. Width and height are how tall and wide the port is.
