Box Designs

Hi im building a box for 2 DC lvl 3 12's i got some help from J00bles on here for building a box J00bles told me to do

the box 36w X 14t X 20d and if you make it out of 3/4 wood, then you're looking at 4.6 cubic feet of volume total.you could then make the port 6w X 12.5t X 25 1/8"d and you'll get tuning at 34hz.

now im going to be building this box but im confused on one thing and thats the port im just wondering what i should build the port like

is there a dirrence on makeing the port like pic 2? and if i wanted to make the box like pic 2 could i just make the sides any lenght i want as long as the port is 25 1/8" deep or is there a certain lenght i should do?

You will have a completely different tuning if you do pic 2, the port length, widt,h and height is all the tuning

ok so if i build the pic 1 box ill be fine then?

If the box depth is 20" and the port length is 25 1/8" it's going to have to look like pic 2
