is 1/0awg required for a btl?

1/0 gauge, you can make it fit...and if it doesn't its because of the cheap amp.

yea i know its a cheap amp but i need some bass so ill have to use it untill i get money for another amp but it wont fit regular so i was saying if i trimmed it down would it defeat the purpose

yea my fault man i did make a typo lol i just fixed it, but my amp accepts 4awg but i didn't know that when i got the amp so i had got an 1/0awg amp kit and i was wondering if i trimmed the wire down a little so it can fit would that defeat the purpose of the 1/0awg wire?

I can understand the whole being on a budget and working with what you got concept. Do you have at least a secondary battery? In all honesty, it doesn't matter what size wire you use unless you have the power to pump through it. Makes sense eh? Anyways, no, it would not defeat the purpose of using 1/0. Think of it this way, it is that much less resistance between the battery source and the amplifier. Worst case, trim down the strands until it just fits snug. Save up for a new amplifier, find a kid in your neighborhood and pawn the amp you are running now to him for $50.00 over retail. Problem solved.

I may have read wrong and am a tard, but why would you need to trim the wire down or use a 4 awg reducers if the amp accepts 1/0?

I would think that 4 awg would be to small to run it, especially since they made it to accept 1/0.

my fault man my title was wrong i just changed it. vice versa it accepts 4awg only and i got an 1/0awg amp kit just wwanted to know whats the best way to hook it up use blocks or trimm down the wire?

from what i remember that amp has dual 4 gauge power and grounds. and i hear that the 4 gauge inputs are smaller than real 4 gauge...but dont quote me on that

yep youre right it has dual inputs and the 4awg inputs do look kinda small but i want that 1/0awg current flow for my btl

Shave the wire, and buy a battery. Your amp is only rated 2500rms correct? You need power to make power. If you are running stock electrical on 2500 watts, you might as well use 6 gauge. Seriously, shaving the wire, and you notice no difference with that amplfier.

it says 3200x1 @ 1 ohm but everybody knows thats way overrated so i expected around 1500-2000rms @ 1ohm

so is it best to shave the wite down so it'll fit? or just use two dist. blocks for power and ground? 1/0awg in and 4awg out of the blocks to the amp?

Use a distro for power but just ground to the frame for ground and use the same spot for both.
